Do you have your fair parade entry forms in yet? They are due Wednesday. Forms are on the Basin Post Office Bulletin Board, at the fair office, on the fair web site and at the Basin Chamber, or download it here. The parade is August 1 at 10 a.m. The last Entertainment in the Park is this Thursday. It will be be the lovely Lori Thon and Jim Rannells. We have been averaging over 25 people each week. Appreciate all that came, those that performed and our sponsors Tom Newman/State Farm and The Overland Express Mart. Also appreciate the Big Horn Basin Adolescent Program for helping with the set up and take down of the chairs. Of course it is county fair week and that means a lot to do for the entire family including free stages acts, animal events shows, quilt show, pig wrestling, rodeo, demo derby, etc. Look for a complete schedule on the fair web page www.bighornfair.com or their Facebook page. Basin as been the home to the Big Horn County Fair for over 100 years. Congratulations to the Town of Burlington for such a successful Pioneer Days. Watch for photos from the event in the Basin Republican Rustler this week. The Basin Area Chamber and the American Cancer Society is hosting an event Oct. 3 in Basin at Lions Field. “Lighting up the night to finish the fight”. Events include a run/walk, dance, breakfast (dinner) and music. We are looking for sponsors, runners/walkers, a band/DJ and volunteers. All the money raised will go to Big Horn County’s Relay for Life. More information is available on the Facebook page entitled Big Horn County Special Event. They will be at the fairgrounds behind the grand stand tonight instead of their regular location. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday find them back at the fairgrounds where they will be selling whole pizza’s and by the slice. Gottsche: Monday night walk club, 5:30 p.m. No aqua zumbia this week as the pool is closed for repair. The Cone Zone: Check out their booth at the fairgrounds AND/OR at their regular store in Basin. Two places to enjoy take care of your ice cream cravings. The Burlington Place: Monday nights at TBP join them at 7:30 p.m and enjoy Monday night trivia, five rounds of ten questions each, prizes awarded weekly, categories change weekly.Thursday's at TBP, receive a discount on any TAKE-OUT pizza with three or fewer toppings.This weeks Pizza Special is the Pig Wrestler: Sausage, Bacon, Canadian Bacon, and Beer-Battered Jalapenos on a Country Gravy.
